2004-11-05 4:22 p.m.
I was once told that unless you write it down, youre not actually going to remember to reach any goals you set. And since I have to write down Go grocery shopping on my weekly to-do list instead of relying on myself to notice that I am out of food, I know this is true.

Someones link linked to another diary that linked to this entry. Heres my go at it:

101 Things I Want to Do in the Next 1001 Days

(1) Learn to surf.

(2) Order a bottle of wine at a restaurant. (08/2005) I did plenty of this in Istanbul, and then I remembered all of the previous other times I have too. Silly me.

(3) Throw a surprise birthday party.

(4) Take a community college class for fun again. (06/08/2005) I just started a real esate exam course. Whee!

(5) Find a job for a friend.

(6) Donate blood. (10/2005) They won't take my blood because I'm too small, I don't bleed enough, and I went to a malaria-infested country.

(7) Fly trapeze.

(8) Do a back handspring.

(9) Run a 10k. (05/30/2005) I ran this race two days after running a 10-mile race. I now eat these for breakfast, but it seemed a lot harder when I wrote this list.

(10) Buy another digital camera.

(11) Find the perfect pants in khaki.

(12) Make fortune cookies. (07/2005) They weren't good. Too bad.

(13) Get Hambones teeth cleaned.

(14) Leave the country. (08/2005) I went to Istanbul.

(15) Buy a pair of shoes I really, really like. (03/2005) I found a pair of beautiful silver shoes for $7 from Nordstrom's Rack. Whee!

(16) Go to California again.

(17) Donate my hair again. (04/17/2005) I got a horrible haircut, but some kid will look damn cute with my old hair.

(18) Pay off 20% of my mortgage.

(19) Buy nice bedroom furniture. (11/26/2004) I placed my order for furniture! In 7-9 day it'll be delivered!

(20) Get a chair for my patio.

(21) Finish watching Angels in America. (02/07/2005) I got Blockbuster's version of Netflix, and it was the first disc they sent me!

(22) Sing karaoke.

(23) Get a calendar I actually like, and use it. (12/31/2004) You've gotta love dollar store calendars!

(24) Buy fun shoes. (05/2005) I have some pretty pink Nine West heels now. Eeeee!

(25) Buy a bottle of Borghese Il Bacio perfume once my Estee Lauder Pleasures is out. (Off eBay, of course!) (12/2005) I got it, and I didn't wait until I was out of anything else. So there.

(26) Ask for a raise. (09/2005) I asked, and they gave me 4.25%. Whoot!

(27) Go to a football game.

(28) Find one picture of myself that I like where Im not holding any booze. (01/08/2005) Benito showed me a picture taken at his company's holiday party. We're both smiling, our eyes are open, and we look good. I really like how the both of us look in it.

(29) Get a pair of glasses I actually like.

(30) Visit my friends in Colorado.

(31) Go to Mexico.

(32) Go to one of my brothers high school baseball games. (04/08/2005) And they won, of course!

(33) Get an Illinois ID to replace my Texas one.

(34) Find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant I love. (03/2006) I found some AWESOME sushi in Lincoln Park!

(35) Get an Internet connection in my house.

(36) Get a new cell phone. (11/12/2004) Holy crap! It actually works!

(37) Buy a matching bra and panties set. (12/2005) It's black with pink lacey stuff.

(38) Dont buy any lotions until Im out of all the ones I currently have.

(39) Eat key lime pie. (12/14/2004) At the company Xmas lunch.

(41) Have a dinner party.

(42) Get a massage. (09/2005) I got a good rub-down at a Turkish bath house in my last day in Turkey.

(43) Make new banner ads for Diaryland. (03/2006) I made very unsuccessful banners to advertise C&C4ACS.

(44) Play skee-ball.

(45) Do a freelance project. (03/2006) I wrote a press release for a friend's company's release party.

(46) Bake a pie. (07/2005) I didn't add enough sugar. YUCK!

(47) Drive a stick shift. (03/2006) I needed to pick up a bed and a chair, so I borrow a friend's truck. I did quite well!

(48) Update my passport to no longer say that Im male. (I didnt catch this error until way after my last trip.) I'm not gonna do this. After not fixing it before going to Turkey and again not having any problems, it's apparently nothing to worry about. La la la.

(49) Pet a friendly dog. (11/07/2004) There was a small, happy dog in my elevator who is always on good behavior when I'm there with him. Last night I patted his head and scratched his ears as he wagged his tail happily. It wasn't that bad...

(50) Read 25 Pulitzer Prize fiction books.

(51) Put my parents VHS tapes on DVD.

(52) Have a picnic.

(53) Get in touch with an old friend. (02/01/2005) I'm again emailing with a friend from high school/college. She's got two kids and a husband in the Marines.

(65) Bowl a 115. (11/27/2004) I dominated bowling with Benito and my brother, sufficiently kicking some butt and scoring strikes when they most mattered. Thankfully this is checked off, as my carpal tunnel couldn't handle that kind of strain again. Whew!

(76) Write an actual letter to an elected official. (11/2005) Bring it on, Illinois Senator Steve Rauschenberger. There's no need to bring up legislation to the Illinois senate because you're upset that A&F is selling t-shirts with dirty sayings on them. Don't we have more pressing topics to deal with?

(77) Drain and get rid of my fishtank. (11/22/2004) I drained it this weekend with my brother's help and had it gone in 3.5 seconds with the help of Craig's List.

(93) Burn a CD of the old digital photos on my old computer.

(94) Get my real estate license. (07/2005) Done! And pretty easily too...

(95) Buy or sell five houses while working part time.

(96) Play one videogame all of the way through until I beat it. (03/19/2005) Benito and I finished Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal after weeks and weeks of playtime.

Its all official now! Let the crossing-off begin today and end on August 1, 2007!
